I'm really not a narcissist

I promise-not at all.

No traits I share with such a man,

If I did, I would recall.

I only tell white lies,

It's really just a few.

I only lie a little,

By accident, I lie to you.

I never really exaggerate

The stories that I tell.

But I swear that woman in the office

Makes my life a living hell.

My life is picture perfect,

I have everything I need.

My friends, my job, my home, my love,

I'm destined to succeed.

Please don't tell me that I'm wrong,

That simply isn't true.

I'm good at this, I'm best at that,

I'm so much better than you.

You might think that I'm being harsh

When I'm trying to be kind.

If I say you ought to go to the gym,

It's concern that's on my mind.

I wouldn't say I'm a drama queen,

I just need all eyes on me.

For what I say is most important,

That I guarantee.

I like to keep you on your toes,

Can you work me out?

I love you one minute, but not the next,

I like to make you doubt.

I'm great at playing victim,

I like to place the blame.

If you've hurt me you'll feel the guilt,

Because to me it's just a game.

I'm really not a narcissist,

I promise- not at all.

Well, maybe, just a little.

But surely, aren't we all?
